Under Suffolk Skies

A History of the County in Fifteen Short Stories

Bob Cattell lived in Suffolk for over 20 years. This collection of fictional stories arose out of his active and eclectic interest in history and in how people fit into their time and their landscape.

Each of the varied voices telling their tales evokes a strong sense of identity and place, from the disaffected Roman officer policing the Iceni, to a daughter of doomed Dunwich to the emigrants forced abroad by the effects of the Enclosures. The text is illuminated by Michael Woods’ striking black and white illustrations.

The stories will be posted here shortly.
