Bowl Like the Devil

Tyrone loves cricket but lacks ability. Practising alone in the nets one day he is approached by a sinister figure – Nick – who gives him advice on how to bowl the fastest and most unplayable deliveries.

An overnight sensation, Tyrone becomes star of the county team but along the way, under the malign influence of Nick, he abandons the truth and his best friend Christiano. He only breaks free after following Nick’s instructions to bowl a dangerous and illegal ‘chuck’ which injures Christiano.

This absorbing Faustian moral tale is set against an accurate and thoroughly plausible cricketing backdrop
