Under Suffolk Skies

A History of the County in Fifteen Short Stories

Bob Cattell lived in Suffolk for over 20 years. This collection of fictional stories arose out of a passionate and eclectic interest in history and in how people fit into their age and their landscape.

The varied voices telling their tales evoke a sense of identity, place and other, often violent, times.  From the disaffected Roman officer policing the Iceni to an abused daughter of doomed Dunwich; from the emigrants forced abroad by the effects of the Enclosures to Nazi sympathisers – all have a strong connection to their environment.

The text is illuminated by Michael Woods’ striking black and white illustrations.
